| Ian Rankin Comes To Waterstones! | ||||

 Waterstones in the Kingsgate Centre were proud to welcome one of Scotland's finest authors, Ian Rankin, on Monday 1st December 2008. Ian Rankin, famous worldwide for his Rebus novels, spent nearly two and a half hours meeting customers within Waterstones and signing copies of his latest novel "Doors Open". Centre Manager Neil Mackie commented "I am absolutely over the moon for Waterstones and for the Kingsgate Centre in general that we have been able to attract the callibre of Ian Rankin. At the peak there were queues of around 2 to 3 hundred waiting to have their books signed! Many thanks to Starbucks for providing free seasonal coffee sampling to those waiting in line. This is the first time we have had such an event within the Kingsgate Centre and, suffice to say, I will be offering any support possible for any future events!" Waterstones' next celebrity book signing session with be Scotland football legend Willy Johnston on Sunday 14th December.
